In this article I wonder: Are players who taunt the opposition with fancy tricks doing so to hide deeper psychological issues? What prompted this Freudian question was an evening I spent at my mate’s house earlier in the week. We were enjoying a few competitive, (and on my behalf, colour fully-languaged) games of Fifa 12 when we got talking about a spin-off game called Fifa Street, a game that actively rewards you for playing a more flamboyant, tricksy style of football than scoring the goals which actually win the game (or at least that was my impression). |

Luke Langlands: Posted on 04 November 2011 17:26
In another Seventy3 fanzone blog, music and football writer Luke Langlands interlinks the two pastimes, recalling memories through the differing aspects, coming together as one. It was the year that airplanes were going to fall out of the sky, computers (mostly coughing and spluttering on snail-pace Internet) would fall ill and strangle their owners, and the British public were first subjected to the horrors known as Big Brother. The year 2000 - the beginning of the 21st century - a landmark year for the world and (more importantly) for Sunderland AFC. |

Jim Fox: Posted on 10 October 2011 20:58
Wednesday 5 October and down to the St
Peter’s campus of Sunderland University to appear on “Spark 107 FM”’s sports
show.
After a quick drink (tea) and introductions with the
staff, it’s into the studio with presenter Andrew Snaith and big Sunderland
(and Rangers) fan Gary Mutimer to discuss all things SAFC in general and to
promote “Seventy3” in particular.
Having done a few phone-in contributions to BBC Radio
Newcastle’s “Talksport” show, I was keen to take up the invitation to be
present in the studio and see how a community radio station works and, of
course, to promote the magazine. |

Nathan Johnson: Posted on 10 October 2011 09:46
Before I start I would like to thank editor/contributor Gavin Henderson and the Seventy3 team for their continued support of Sunderland World. We sincerely hope they grow as a fanzine and achieve their aims. A month ago, because of my time running the Sunderland World site as a whole I was not able to write articles on my own on a regular basis, therefore I decided to create an article team. I aptly nicknamed this team ‘The Famous Five.’ Three of them are long standing forum regulars and two of them are new to the site. |

Gary Johnson: Posted on 26 August 2011 12:51
Seventy3 and Terrace Talk writer Gary Johnson faced up to being a game show contestant as he battled with the Banker on “Deal or No Deal”, filmed back in late January 2011. The show will be screened on channel 4 at 4.00pm on Wednesday 21 September and it is one every Sunderland fan will be proud to watch! Where do I begin? Seriously the past six months have been absolutely crazy, from the moment I drunkenly applied to appear on the game show back in February 2010 after a night out on the beer with my fiancée, to the moment I first stood behind the wings live on National television. |
