Germany Calling Achtung - Ecoli Outbreak! Feeling a tad rough today but not from Ecoli from alcohol poisoning one suspects! Warsteiner is not labelled 'Wobbly' for no reason. I only had 6 pints and a bottle of Veltins and a Schnapps chaser and I have a fat head at present, not helped by the ever worrying concerns over here on Ecoli. It is strange to watch Sky News and hear the world is infected with the deadly bug - all originating from Northern Germany - where we are now. I keep hearing ambulances flying past and it does make you wonder who's next and thats not being over the top, thats life round here at the mo. |

Greetings From Germany - Part 2 Revenge of the Bratwurst Its half past 11 and this digital wordsmith is flagging through a mixture of German beer, schanpps and mounds of food. For the sake of Seventy3 magazine, I have had to put myself on the line and sampled over 10 different local and national beers, a variety of schnapps, whlst putting my life on the line testing a currywurst and pork schitzel - in this era of ecoli outbreak, which has killed over 17 across the world - originating from Hannover - the city just up the road! |

Greetings from Germany! I arrived yesterday (Weds 1 June 2011) in Hameln for the recce into German territory for next month’s games for Sunderland over here. First impressions are good! Weather is a balmy 30 degrees, the beer has been flowing (Warsteiner tastes so crisp – it’s akin to drinking pop, however it’s ‘wobbly’ nickname certainly gets you after enjoying a few, without realising its effects. It’s like sitting in the sun with a nice breeze – good shit, but you will feel the effects the next day! |
